CERDD MACHNO 09 / MACHNO MUSIC 09 will be an evening of live entertainment featuring the very best young, local talent from in and around the Machno Valley.
The event will be taking place on the 4th of December at neuadd Tyn y Porth hall at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available at £2 each and ALL PROFITS WILL BE GIVEN TOWARDS NEXT YEAR'S FUN DAY/CARNIVAL here in Penmachno.
Tickets will be available at the Ysgol Penmachno Christmas fair or if you can't make it to that, get them by phoning 07554276979 (keep posted as more options on buying tickets will be available.) If you live in Penmachno then we'll be more than happy to drop the tickets off for you.
As the organizers, we have 3 main aims:-
1. To raise funds for next year's fun day/carnival
2. To give young, local musicians the opportunity to play in front of a hometown audience.
3. To celebrate the beginning of the festive period in a friendly comfortable atmosphere and have a great time!
So who's performing?
Here is a list, as well as some details about the bands and artists who'll be appearing at Machno Music/Cerdd Machno 09...
CRAZY MOUNTAIN PEOPLE - Crazy Mountain People are a four piece indie/folk band who incorporate flavors of rock & pop together as well as an experimental edge. Listen out for their classic songs in both Welsh and English! We come from Penmachno and some of you may remember us from the Hog Roast/Barn Dance.
NAUGHTY MAGIC SIMON - The excellently named 'Naughty Magic Simon' are a Betws based folk/jazz/experimental band. Widely tipped for a bright future, catch them quick before they're famous! Although not from Penmachno, they have made several appearances at the monthly Sesiwn Fach folk night in the Eagles. This is your chance to see them on a big stage!
LEANNE RICHARDS - Penmachno's very own girl with the voice of an angel. Watch in awe and admire her own work and sing a long to some old classics! Leanne will really get you going with her delightful acoustic bliss!
LOOKOUT KID! - Another local resident of Penmachno. This is Crazy Mountain People's Ben Ellis and his solo side project. Ben brings us sweet, melodies and tales of teen romance with his bittersweet acoustic mastery. You may have seen Ben performing with CMP as well as with local artsit Dan Amor.
UGLY FASHION - Conwy Valley's finest punksters. Expertly crafted songs and a lively, energetic set will have you breathless as you watch Penmachno's own Callum Dixon front his new band!
MALI SION - The youngest performer of the night! Still only at Ysgol Penmachno but with a wealth of talent! She'll amaze you with her excellent violin playing and will perform a few songs with Look Out Kid!

So the show starts at 7.30pm, come and support the young talent and have a great time in the process! Not only that but come and support your village!
